Job Description

Kent Mind and Body are looking to recruit a CWP to continue to improve children and young people’s mental health services in Kent. The training forms part of the service transformation initiative delivered by NHS England as part of the Children and Young People’s Psychological Training (CYP-PT) programme.

This is a fixed-term contract until December 2025.

 

This is a training position post holder will undertake training at Kings College London alongside working in service. You will be taught to deliver evidence based guided self-help interventions for children and young people experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties. The post holder will use their newly developed skills to support children and young people who are referred into the service and trainees will receive supervision to support their professional development.

This is a dual application process. In addition to applying for this position with us, you must also complete a KCL application for the Course Team to review. The Course Team will liaise with us on whether you meet the academic requirements for the course during the recruitment process. You will only be offered a KCL training place if you are successful in securing this post and you meet the university training requirements (such as academic background, relevant experience, visa approval).  Please submit your application to KCL via this link before 25th November.

Required Skills

Eligibility for this post

To do this job successfully, you will need:

  • Undergraduate degree, upper second class or above, in Psychology OR related subject (e.g., Psychology, Education, Childhood development, Social Work etc), 
    • OR any subject with further training or experience in a relevant field (e.g., Teaching/TA; Learning Support; HCA; Youth Work; Counselling etc)  
    • OR Relevant professional experience in CYP Mental Health/Education/Mentorship (to be considered on a case-by-case basis)
  • Experience of working within a mental health setting and/or school pastoral care
  • Experience of working with children and an understanding of how to talk with them
  • The ability to work cohesively within small teams
  • Commitment to using data and relevant measures to assess clinical outcomes

Should you be successful in your application, you will be required to provide 3 years' worth of references and where applicable, will need to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
