Job Description

Our team in Lancashire are recruiting for a Specialist Smoking Cessation Worker, to join them in providing high quality recovery care to a diverse client group. With You in Lancashire deliver the young people's drug and alcohol service in Lancashire. This role will support an exciting new service supporting Change, Grow, Live, in the delivery of the young people's element of the Lancashire Smoke Free service.

A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is required for this role

As a Specialist Smoking Cessation Worker, you will play a pivotal role in our Lancashire services. The role requires an organised and flexible approach, you will act as a champion of smoking cessation for young people (ages 12 - 18), and be able to advise clients and colleagues on this specialism.

There may be some occasions where you would be expected to step-up as a Team Leader to cover any absences.

A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is required for this role


Required Skills

To be able to do this job successfully, you will have:

  • attained ONC/NVQ level 3 or be willing to achieve this within 12 months
  • the ability to work effectively on your own and as part of a team, sharing your skills knowledge and experience
  • demonstrable experience of working in the health, social care, criminal justice or specialist setting
  • excellent relationship building skills with a range of people from a wide variety of backgrounds
  • excellent written and oral communication skills, including engaging delivery of presentations
  • good organisational skills to be able to manage your time effectively, prioritising your work and being able to cope with the pressure of competing demands  
  • knowledge and understanding of group working, issues affeccting young person including vaping
  • the ability to record and maintain accurate case details and in a timely manner
  • effective IT skills, able to use different packages and digital media

This role is subject to a satisfactory enhanced level DBS and barred lists check.
